I'm the World's First Rank 1 AION 2 Challenger Templar, and across Global I farmed 1.9 million Abyss Points. The number sounds absurd until you see where it actually comes from - it is not one magic farm, it is a stack of AP sources that most players only half-use. This guide breaks down every one of them in the order I prioritise, so you can run the same routine and stop leaving AP on the table.

⚔️ The short version: AP comes from five stacked sources - weekly command quests, supply requests, field & world bosses, Rift PvP, and Abyss PvP. Clear the guaranteed weekly/daily sources first (they never come back), then convert every PvP opportunity into AP on top. The players who hit huge AP totals are the ones who never skip the boring guaranteed sources.

💠 What Abyss Points Are For

Abyss Points (AP) buy your PvP progression - T2 skins, stigless, potential abyss stones (to add PvP damage boost on your best slot), and eventually your medals toward T2 pieces. Climbing AP is also how you push officer rank; Sol built this total on the way to two-star officer.

The one mechanic that decides your priorities: the AP cap

This is the single most important thing to understand. There is a weekly season AP cap, and it rises every week. Because it is a rolling season cap, an active player can always catch up to someone ahead of them on AP - the cap is the equaliser. But here is the key split:

  • Some AP sources count toward the cap (most PvP kills, abyss mob kills).
  • Some AP sources sit OUTSIDE the cap (the boss/supply-request AP below is its own separate weekly cap).

The sources outside the cap are the ones you absolutely cannot skip - they are extra AP on top of your capped total. Knowing which is which is what tells you your real priority order.

💠 Why 1.9M matters: Sol is near 2 million and not even pushing AP right now (he is farming kinah for weapons). The total is the compounding result of hitting the weekly cap AND never skipping the out-of-cap sources - all while playing as a sub-only, non-swiping player.

📜 Command Quests (Guaranteed AP)

Command quests are the number one priority for grinding AP. Every week in your main town - Zumion village if you are Elyos, Nor assembly if you are Asmodian - find the Command Merchant (same icon for both factions). It gives you 12 quests per week, and they are capped per week, so you need to clear all of them every reset.

What to reroll those 12 quests for

Reroll your command quests chasing Sol's top three targets, in this order:

  1. Nightmare tickets - if you have not finished your Nightmare cycle statue yet.
  2. Energy
  3. Ascension Trial tokens

Your duty quests are not directly tied to this, but still do them - they are too important to skip.

Don't forget the Abyss command quests

There is a second Command Merchant in the Abyss (same icon), and most players miss it. Get all the white, green, blue, and gold quests there. Ideally run these in a group. If you cannot PvP solo efficiently, do them during off-hours (4-5 a.m., outside Zerg hours) - though on weekends people are online even past midnight, so find the window that works for you.

📜 PvEers, do these too. Sol is explicit: even as a PvE player you need to do the Abyss command quests. The fix is social, not combat - find a guild or legion willing to play with you and clear them together.

🐉 Bosses & Proof of Hero

Bosses are Sol's second most important AP method, and they feed the supply requests below. Two kinds:

Abyss siege / field bosses

Field bosses spawn on a timer in the Abyss. Each can drop not just yellow uniques but Proof of Hero. Proof of Hero can be substance-morphed into a chest, and that chest gives you AP. You can only craft so many per week (it is capped weekly), so never skip these.

Open-world bosses

Once you are pushing T3 dungeons / hard modes and Transcendence 4, do not skip the open-world bosses when they are up - Sol names Loga, Kashba, Dartank, and Groula as the ones you never skip, plus smaller ones like Tao. Every boss has specific items you collect that turn into supply-request AP.

🐉 Eternal Gratuita is the goated one. It is the best value: you get 2 Gratuita armor pieces AND 67k AP. For the bigger bosses you only need about two of their items, so prioritise the high-payout ones and turn everything into supply requests.

📦 Supply Requests (Out of Cap)

Supply requests are a near-daily delivery turn-in, and they are tightly linked to the bosses above. Every day Sol goes in and delivers the items in his possession for supply requests. Some require crafting or a life skill; some are just items you pick up playing the game. He clears the weekly supply requests and the emergency dailies as much as possible.

This is how boss items become AP

Every boss drops certain items you collect and turn in as supply requests for AP. Critically, this AP does not count toward the overall AP cap - it is its own separate weekly cap, which is exactly why it cannot be skipped: it is AP stacked on top of your capped total.

📦 Out-of-cap = unskippable. Because supply-request AP sits outside the main cap, it is pure bonus. Clear it every week - skipping it is leaving free AP on the table that your weekly cap can never give back.

🌀 Space-Time Rifts (Double AP)

Never miss a Space-Time Rift. This is the one Sol repeats twice, because a space-time rift gives you double AP per kill - kill a player inside a rift and you get twice what the same kill pays in the open Abyss. Defending your homeland or invading the enemy's during a rift is one of the most important AP methods in the game.

How to never miss a rift (timers)

Use timer tools so a rift never pops without you:

  • QuestLog.gg - has most rift timers at the top, plus Shugo and other events.
  • NotMeter - push notifications for bosses AND rifts. Enable them under Alerts: turn on Battlefield alerts (for your weekly Battlefield wins) and Space-Time Rift alerts. Sol runs NotMeter himself.
While you're in the enemy zone

Once you have rifted over, clear all the sealed dungeons and strongholds in the opposite faction - they give AP too. Go as a group, look for PvP, and complete them while you are there. Note: space-time rift kill AP does count toward your weekly cap.

🌀 Double AP is the multiplier. A rift kill is worth two normal kills, so a strong player compounds AP fastest here. Your build decides how many of those fights you win - see the Templar build.

⚔️ Abyss Mob Grind & PvP

Killing mobs in the Abyss is the best method for a PvEer to gain AP (outside of command quests), and it counts toward your cap. The most efficient grind spots:

  • South Occupago - the south-west side, or the central far-east side.
  • Sulfur - the pit on the north/north-west side, and the area around the lakes on the south-west side.

If you are focused purely on PvE, the real most-efficient spot is wherever you are not getting ganked constantly - uptime beats a marginally better camp you keep dying in.

For the sweaty PvPers: it's skill, not gear

Sol did not reach Rank 1 by accident - 2,300 player kills, 2,900 assists, ~500 deaths, as the only player up there who is not swiping or RNG-blessed (he openly says his gear is among the worst at the top). His point: you cannot blame gear for not being able to kill players. It is a skill and knowledge gap - knowing who to approach, when to engage, and when to disengage. He focuses on stats over gear (2.5k attack, ~1k accuracy, 1k+ crit, strong block) so his AP keeps climbing while he waits to buy/craft weapons rather than taking pity items.

⚔️ The ceiling is skill-gated, not wallet-gated. This is the proof behind the whole non-swiper brand: the highest AP totals come from winning fights you are not "supposed" to win on gear. Optimise stats, learn the matchups, and the AP follows.

🔢 Putting It Together: The Weekly AP Routine

The reason the total reaches 1.9 million is the stack, and the cap decides the order. Clear the out-of-cap sources no matter what (they are free AP on top), and keep grinding the in-cap sources until you hit the weekly cap:

  1. Command quests (main town + Abyss merchant, all 12 + all colours) - the #1 priority, weekly capped.
  2. Bosses (siege/field for Proof of Hero, open-world Loga/Kashba/Dartank/Groula/Tao) - feed supply requests.
  3. Supply requests (daily deliveries + boss-item turn-ins) - OUT of cap, never skip.
  4. Space-Time Rifts - double AP per kill, never miss one (set NotMeter alerts).
  5. Abyss mob grind + enemy-faction dungeons/strongholds - best for PvEers, counts toward cap.

Because the cap rises weekly and is a season cap, staying active means you can always catch up on AP - so the real losers are the weeks you skip the out-of-cap boss and supply-request AP.

The final tip: find a legion

Sol's closing point is blunt - do not play this game solo. Most people complaining about whales are trying to solo it. Find a legion that will play with you: you will be more efficient, have more fun, and survive the whale groups that roll rifts. It is a massively multiplayer online RPG - communicate, make friends, and the AP grind gets far easier.

🔢 Pair this with the daily routine. The daily & weekly guide covers the reset timing and reroll discipline behind the command-quest and boss sources above. AP farming layers on top of that routine - it is not a separate grind.
